The Spirit of Flight Award, sponsored by the Society of Experimental Test Pilots, is presented annually to an EAA member who best exemplifies the spirit of research, development or flight test. The winner is nominated by EAA and is selected by SETP's Board of Directors.
Eligibility for the Spirit of Flight Award:
A candidate for the Spirit of Flight Award should:
- Be an EAA member
- Have significant flight-test experience
- Have shared his/her flight-test knowledge and experience with fellow EAA members through presentations, written articles or the EAA’s Flight Advisor program
- Promote aviation safety
Nominees are excluded from submitting their own application.
Nominations are open to any eligible living candidate.
All nominations along with supporting materials must be received by May 31st. Nominations submitted after May 31st will be considered for the following year.
