Aviation Activities for kids - EAA AeroEducate

Stop by the AeroEducate Center, located at the entrance of Aviation Gateway Park, to learn about EAA’s AeroEducate program, a FREE self-paced online activity program for students from kindergarten through high school to explore the exciting world of aviation, developed in partnership with companies, organizations, and universities from across the country.

AeroEducate also provides teachers, parents, EAA chapters, and other youth leaders with a toolbox or resources to help inspire future generations of aviators, engineers, mechanics, astronauts, and more! Stop by to learn more!

Activities held in the AeroEducate Center during AirVenture week will primarily be geared toward youth ages 11-18, including:

  • Daily forums led by inspiring young professionals in the aviation industry
  • Daily forums led by industry leaders from United Airlines, NATCA, Naval Academy, Air National Guard, and more!
  • Daily hands-on activities led by AeroEducate and industry leaders from Flite Test, Aircraft Electronics Association (AEA), Air National Guard, and more!

    9 - 10:15 a.m. | Mission Inspiration - NASA Talk with Jeanie Engle
    Forum Speaker: Jeanie Engle

    Get Ready to be inspired! Get ready to be inspired! Ever wonder what it’s like to work behind the scenes at NASA? Come meet Jeanie Engle, NASA’s second Chief Knowledge Officer. Among her many contributions, Jeanie was primarily responsible for documenting shuttle mission information so current and future space teams could learn from it. She will share her path to a career in aerospace, talk about the exciting work that happens at NASA, and tell stories from her years supporting space exploration.     1 - 3 p.m. | Ready, Set, Build, Fly! An RC Airplane Workshop
    Presented by: Flite Test

    Ready to take flight—literally? Join us for a hands-on RC build session with the Flite Test team! In this fun and interactive workshop, you’ll build your very own EZ Flyer foam RC airplane from the ground up, guided step-by-step by the experts themselves. No experience needed—just bring your curiosity and get ready to create something that actually flies! Best part? You get to take your aircraft home. Come build, learn, and launch into the skies with us!

    NOTE: This activity is best suited for youth in grades 6-12. Participants should plan to attend for the entire session. There is no cost for participation.
