All pilots flying into and out of the United States to attend EAA AirVenture Oshkosh must provide their aircraft and passenger information to the U.S. Customs forms via the electronic Advanced Passenger Information System (eAPIS) at least 60 minutes prior to their last non-U.S. airport departure.
There is an additional Transportation Security Administration (TSA) border crossing notification requirement for all border crossing pilots who cannot comply with NOTAM 9/2788. For general aviation pilots flying aircraft that weigh less than 100,309 pounds that generally means if your aircraft does not have a transponder or a radio you must submit a request for a TSA International Waiver at least 5 days prior to your flight.
Reminder From U.S. & Canada Border Agencies
Canadian pilots flying Canadian registered amateur-built aircraft, basic ultralight aircraft, or advanced ultralight aircraft need a FAA Special Flight Authorization (SFA) to fly in the U.S. Follow these instructions, then print the SFA form and keep it in your aircraft while flying in the U.S.
Canadian pilots flying any other Canadian registered experimental aircraft (Warbird, etc.) must contact the Milwaukee Flight Standards District Office (FSDO) at 414-486-2920 to obtain your SFA.

When departing Wittman Regional Airport (KOSH) and headed out of the country, this is how you should enter your departure information because the Wittman airport is not a designated CBP port of entry/departure:
For this flight, the CBP airport closest to the point of departure is Appleton International Airport (KATW) in Appleton, Wisconsin. Austin Straubel International Airport (KGRB) in Green Bay, Wisconsin, is also another close option. For this manifest, the CBP airport of departure ("Airport") should be entered as KATW or KGRB, depending on your choice. Because the actual city of departure ("City") is Oshkosh, the “"Actual Departure Location Description" should be entered as KOSH.
Clearing U.S. Customs
Wittman Regional Airport (KOSH), Oshkosh, Wisconsin, is not an airport of entry for clearing U.S. Customs. You cannot clear customs at Oshkosh; U.S. Customs will not be providing any services at Oshkosh before, during or after AirVenture. Find an aviation port of entry or call Appleton International Airport Customs and Border Protection number at 920-968-2348. Customs services at KATW are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Clearing Customs at ATW, even during EAA, is quick and convenient. Most flights can be cleared in as little as 10 minutes. Landing rights should be obtained Monday through Friday from 0800 to 1600 local. This information may also be obtained by asking a FAA Flight Service Station by calling 1-800-WX-Brief. Also, KATW is waiving their customary “After Hours” charge during the week of EAA.
