To ensure successful completion of flight training for Ray Aviation Scholarship Fund recipients, the involvement of the local EAA chapter is critical. Without the support and mentorship of a healthy and active chapter, the probability of completing flight training decreases drastically.
Due to the importance of the chapter’s mentorship and support, chapters interested in administering the Ray Aviation Scholarship will be required to apply on an annual basis. When selecting eligible chapters, the following will be taken into consideration:
- Overall chapter health and activity.
- What youth activities the chapter engages in (youth builds, day camps, RC/model aircraft, etc.).
- Chapter experience administering a scholarship.
- Availability of potential scholars.
