EAA’s Advocacy & Safety department is actively involved in state and local aviation policy and legislation affecting EAA membership and the greater recreational aviation community.
Common issues at this level include aircraft-related sales and use taxes, aviation-related liability statutes, airport funding and maintenance, hangar use policies, and local noise concerns.
EAA works closely with its members and chapters to encourage grassroots advocacy and promote beneficial policy. EAA also takes direct action through contacts with state legislators, county and municipal leaders, and airport managers.
