Shelly deZevallos
Shelly deZevallosShelly Lesikar deZevallos, Ed.D. is president of West Houston Airport, a privately owned-public use general aviation airport and flight school operated by her family. It is one of the busiest general aviation airports in the country with over 300 based aircraft and the longest continuous service flight school in the Houston Area. She started sweeping hangars at 8 years old and is an active pilot and airplane owner with her SEL, MEL and Glider ratings along with her IFR and commercial certificates.
Dr. deZevallos is a Lifetime member of EAA and serves as Chair of the Texas DOT Aviation Advisory Commission and serves on the board of the National Business Aviation Association. She also serves her native Houston area as board member of the San Jacinto Girl Scouts of America Council – where they have just initiated their “Discover Aviation” Patch.
She has earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas, her EMBA from Texas A&M and her Doctorate of Education in Aviation and Space Science. Dr. deZevallos resides in Houston with her husband, also a pilot, her twin daughters and dog.
Shelly joined the EAA Board of Directors in November 2022.
