Fall Flying Safety Checklist
By EAA Staff
The season of pumpkin spice (and pumpkin drops) is almost upon us, bringing about beautiful flying weather and an opportunity to review safety checklists and protocols before the holidays set in. Here are some suggestions on ways to stay sharp and fly safe this month.
- Review Personal Limitations
- Double Check Logbook Currency (and Your Own Proficiency)
- Practice Emergency Flows
- Do an Extra-Thorough Preflight
- Get Some Dual From an Instructor
- Watch an EAA Safety Webinar
- Attend an IMC Club or VMC Club Meeting
- Chair/Poster Fly to Review Checklists and Their Intent
- Take a Simulator Flight
As pilots, we know that complacency can sneak in quietly, especially when flying conditions seem perfect. By taking the time now to refresh, you’re investing in safer flights for yourself and others. In the end, the life you save may very well be your own.
