History Takes Flight

With a collection of more than 200 historic aircraft, the EAA Aviation Museum is a year-round destination, combining aviation's past with the promise of its exciting future.

In December 1984, the EAA Library received a collection of 1,000 black and white negatives donated by photographer Schrade F. Radtke. These images represent civil and military aircraft during the 1930s.

The images have been cataloged and contact prints made. Unfortunately, we have next to no history of the collection and the circumstances under which the photographs were taken.

Examples from the collection are shown above. The complete collection can be viewed on the EAA Museum's Flickr website.
