EAA Young Eagles Workshops

EAA

The EAA Young Eagles Workshops program is an aviation day-camp opportunity for youth approximately 11 to 17 to learn about aviation in a social setting at a local airport using turnkey content provided by EAA national. Designed to be adaptable to the chapter’s schedule and volunteer capacity, workshops can be held as a one-day or a multiple day experience focused on introducing kids to basic elements of aircraft and aviation.

Through classroom-style learning modules and hands-on activities, EAA Young Eagles Workshops provide emotional, creative, social, and educational growth to kids with mentorship from EAA chapter members to encourage kids to embrace aviation as a potential recreational or career path as they mature. Nearly everything a chapter needs to successfully host a workshop is included in the kit from student worksheets, to specific materials and instructions for the hands-on projects, to a handbook to guide the chapter in planning and preparation.

To purchase a Young Eagles Workshops kit, a chapter must register and commit to holding an event within the next year. The kit is meant to be used by chapters for EAA Young Eagles Workshop events only.

The development of this program and the discounted price for chapters was made possible in part by a generous donation from the Sporty’s Foundation.

Cost to chapters: Young Eagles Workshop Kit (10-pack of materials): $90  $45
Young Eagles Credits may be used for the purchase of the kit.
